The photo series BRAVO / Proust seeks to hold a specific moment so as to make it more understandable for one’s perception. Just like Marcel Proust in his novel ‘A la recherche du temps perdu’ gives an account of the moment of falling asleep with an elaborate description of the details, associations and memories and thus fixing it, here the process is documented by showing the change of the surroundings of the one seeking sleep.
The transience of time is addressed by the photographs and their serial arrangement, the text has faded and is replaced by photographic grammar. The series and the voids create a temporal rhythmicisation that reconstructs this moment of sleep.
