‘Dust is the body of time’ (Joseph Brodsky), its structure makes the invisible visible, it is information about the past and the present. Air flows, traces, light and temporal changes become perceptible thanks to the dust. It is both a symbol for the origin of things and their decay.

By fixing this otherwise fleeting and in everyday life unwanted matter in form of drawings, the tension between presence and absence is discussed. The breath mentioned in the title refers on the one hand to my breath, which I always have to hold whilst drawing so that the dust will not be blown away, on the other hand to breath as a synonym for hints or traces.
